ZAGIMUN 2009: Thank you!

The ZAGIMUN 2009 Conference is now over.

This year, the ZAGIMUN Conference took place from October 18 to 24 at the Zagreb City Hall. It gathered over 90 students from over 20 countries to discuss topics of international interest. For a whole week, participants of the Conference took on roles of foreign diplomats and consistently represented positions of the countries they embodied. Through defending their states’ interests, they had a chance to experience the decision making processes of the United Nations and the European Union and to debate, discuss and develop solutions to world problems with their fellow delegates.

On this note, we would like to thank everyone who participated in ZAGIMUN 2009 and made this event such a success. We hope to see you again in 2010!

ZAGIMUN 2009 Executive Committee and Supervisory Board

Registration for ZAGIMUN 2009 is now closed

Dear MUNers,

The registration for participation in ZAGIMUN 2009 is now closed. The number of your applications has once again proved the need and interest of young people in the type of program ZAGIMUN offers. Thank you to all of those who expressed their support for ZAGIMUN by applying for this year’s conference.

We would like to encourage you to apply next year for the 4th edition of ZAGIMUN, for which the registration will open in June 2010.

Thank you for your interest in ZAGIMUN!

Best regards,

Executive Committee
ZAGIMUN 2009

Welcome to ZAGIMUN!

Dear Diplomats,

Yes, Diplomats – after two very successful conferences, the Zagreb International Model United Nations is on the eve of training more young ambassadors and diplomats during the third annual conference and you are courteously invited to make the difference with us this year.

Model United Nations – or MUN for short – gives students from around the world the opportunity to step into the shoes of a diplomat. During the week-long conference, they will have to address world problems, representing a world nation, a non-governmental organization or making the difference as members of the world press, influencing public opinion.

ZAGIMUN will embark, for the third year in a row, on a journey to let students experience the art of diplomacy, negotiation and enhance public speaking and debating skills. Every participant to the conference will discuss issues which are hotly debated in world politics and are currently on the political agenda of many governments around the world. Perhaps more importantly, however, ZAGIMUN has become a week of socializing, meeting new friends with the same interests and the return of old friends whom once again meet with the aim of solving some of the largest and most complex issues of our era.

As such, we are honored to be able to invite you to the third edition of the Zagreb International Model United Nations, which will be held in Croatia’s capital Zagreb, from 18 to 24 October 2009. All those interested in international affairs, politics and diplomacy, but also those interested in experiencing life as a reporter of world news are invited to sign up for the conference. Personal experience has taught us that whether you are an experienced MUNer, or completely new to this family, ZAGIMUN will certainly provide you with the perfect mixture between heated debates and Balkan culture.

We hope to be able to welcome you to Zagreb in October!

Sincerely yours,

Agnes Venema & Kaspar Paur
